Dave Gilbrt BA, M.Phil. PIFA
Project Manager (Archaeology)

Dave was appointed as a project officer in the summer of 2005, and has completed several projects in the South Midlands region, ranging from watching briefs to excavations.

Graduating from Cardiff University, Dave has been employed both academically and professionally in archaeology since 1993. He has been involved in a wide range of projects in Britain, Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.

As a Research Associate for Cardiff University he directed a series of training and research excavations and field projects over a four year period, including field walking and geophysical surveys.

Recently Dave has worked as an archaeological consultant in Wales for a Cardiff based company. Previously he has held the posts of project officer and project manager for other archaeological organisations, and is a member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists.

He is an honorary Research Fellow of the Institute of Archaeology UCL, conducting ceramic analysis, with a forthcoming research publication ‘The Islamic Ceramics of the Merv Oasis’.
