Dave has been involved in archaeology since 1985 and graduated with his first degree in 1993 before conducting a programme of post-graduate research at Cardiff University. Since 1993 he has been employed both academically and professionally in archaeology, and has been involved in a wide range of projects in Britain, Europe, the Middle East and Asia at senior levels of responsibility, accumulating extensive experience in professional archaeological practices. Previously Dave has held the posts of Project Officer and Senior Archaeologist for other archaeological organisations and as a Research Associate for Cardiff University he directed a series of training projects and research excavations over a four-year period. He was appointed a Research Fellow of the Institute of Archaeology, UCL in 2000 where he regularly published the results of his research on ceramics of the Merv Oasis. Dave has also collaborated on research projects with numerous Universities worldwide, including The MacDonald Institute (Tell Brak), Università di Bologna (Murgab Delta), Cambridge University (Jam Minaret) and contributed to the UNESCO Intangible Heritage Project – The Blue of Samarkand. Dave worked as an archaeological consultant in Wales before joining the company in 2005 and has since worked on major urban and rural projects across southern Britain. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Archaeology, a member of the British Institute for Persian Studies, the Medieval Pottery Research Group and the Institute for Archaeologists, including their Finds and Maritime Affairs Groups.
